Chief Ministers is the head of the government and legislatures. General public elect the Chief Ministers for the five years. On other five union territories (Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep) are ruled by the central government directly.
